Help with Crossword Compiler in NYC

Hi,
Crossword Lover (duh) and Wannabe NYT Constructor seeks a little help. I have received good feedback from Will, but am yet to be published. I am in the NYC area and am looking for someone local who can help me a bit with Crossword Compiler as I am not using it to its full potential. CC has definitely sped up my construction time, but I still struggle with it, and know that were I to be using it right, I could construct far quicker.
I would be interested in any help and don't think this would take too much of your time as I just need to work out a few things. Please help this poor pathetic man fulfill a dream. One more rejection letter from Paula, and I might go postal. There's a tongue twisting headline for the Post:
Poor Pathetic Puzzler goes Postal when Paula puts his puzzles in Poubelle.
