.xml files vs .bin files

Postby fern smacker » Tue Jun 03, 2008 3:12 pm

My web site www.puzzlepick.com was constructed to accept .bin files which I uploaded to the site along with the html file to form an online interactive puzzle. Go have a look!

My problem now is that the new CC8.0 program creates .xml files instead of .bin files for Interactive puzzles and the site won't accept them. (Note that I had the site built for me and that person has now moved on. I am not equipped to tinker with the site at all!)

So the way I look at it I've got two solutions.

a) Find someone on the forum here to tell me how to convert .xml files to .bin files

or

b) Go back to using the CC 7.0 program. (As I haven't yet examined the the 8.0 version, I can at this point do without its new features as I don't know what they are!)

Obviously plan b) looks the choice to make here, so unless someone here knows how to do plan a), can someone here tell me the fastest, easiest, safest way to go back to the 7.0 version?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Fern,
I'm not a technician but looking in the past on CCW forum I found some matters related to java, jar, xml formats. The problem was "cannot read file ..." and it was solved exporting files without "zipped XML" option.

See following thread "java problem" :

Hope this is useful for you.
