Having upgraded to version 8 I have twice now got locked into the clue edit screen, something that never happened before. I can alter the text in the box but it will neither accept the OK nor the cancel instruction. I can highlight a previous clue but it will not allow me to use it. There appears to be no way of exiting from the situation except to shut the program down, losing all the work one has done during the session. Has anyone else had this problem? I am not doing anything different than I have done on many occasions with the previous version so am at a loss to know what triggers the problem. I am running on Windows XP. Any help gratefully received.

Not heard that before - not sure what it is, sorry. What do you mean by "can highlight a previous clue"? Does pressing Esc or clicking on Close work? Or perhaps de-focusing and re-focusing the window?

What happens is none of the buttons 'use clue' 'OK' 'Cancel' or the close window 'x' work. I can still work with the text in the clue; I can highlight a clue from the database but not use it. So apart from the buttons the functionality of the boxes still seems to be OK which suggests it is a weird program glitch. I have probably used the program extensively about 10 times since I downloaded it and this has only happened the twice. Using control, alt, delete to exit from crossword compiler and restarting gets it working again but loses the work to date. Hope that helps,
