Words that go backward in the HTML5 solver?

Post by Alex Boisvert » Sat Aug 30, 2014 7:54 pm

Hi all.

I'm trying to use the HTML5 solver to create interactive Marching Bands puzzles. The problem is that it requires words that go backward in the grid, and I don't see how to get the HTML5 solver to deal with that. For instance, if I define word 12 as follows:

Code: Select all

<word id=\"12\" x=\"1-11\" y=\"1\"><cells x=\"11\" y=\"2-11\"></cells><cells x=\"10-1\" y=\"11\"></cells></word>
the word correctly goes across the top row and then down the last column, but then forward across the bottom row. Is there a workaround for this or is it hopeless?

Thanks!

Sorry, the applet does assume words go forward.

Oh no! This is basically the reason I bought Crossword Compiler (having a HTML5 solver that would support variety puzzles). Is there a chance of an update in the future?
